As AMAZING HOUSTON COMIC CON enters our 2nd year, a main goal was to expand the event, while keeping true to our core values. We believe in spotlighting the very best in pop culture, and the people who have brought these to life. On the schedule you will see many programs focused on our main guests- from DEADPOOL with creator Rob Liefeld, to STAR WARS events with Darth Vader’s David Prowse and Artist Howard Chaykin, to the Architects of Pop Culture panel with a number of the comic creators.
Pop Culture has many faces, and we are proud to grow the scope of the programming by adding a big animation push. Leading the way is Alex Hirsch and GRAVITY FALLS, BOB’s BURGERS character designer Devin Roth, and PHINEAS & FERB’s Mat Nastos. Diversity was also goal. Anime is also represented with SAILOR MOON cast Reunion, and fan favorite voice of Dragonball Z and more Chuck Huber.
While Costuming has become one of the growing areas of convention culture, Amazing Houston Comic Con goes a step beyond the standard. While the Saturday evening COSPLAY CONTEST is one of our tentpole events, we have included Doctor Who as a costume meet-up. Make & Take Workshops from Garage FX will be running throughout the weekend, empowering eveyone to build the coolest props and gear from everyday items. Also Sunday’s Kid’s Costume Parade is a crowd favorite.

We want to personally thank our FEATURED PANALISTS who have contributed greatly to the Amazing Houston Comic Con programming schedule. MEREDITH PLACKO has joined Amazing Comic Con staff earlier this year, and is lending her expertise to Houston. She brings along ALANA JORDAN and EMMA FYFFE, two emerging voices from the After Buzz internet program. World Famous Cosplayer, and Pop Personality JESSICA MERIZAN has joined into the festivities this year, as well as Xander and Bonnie Gordan from the LIBRARY BARDS. This group is sure to bring great mix to the fan community, building Amazing Houston Comic Con as a full 3 day weekend destination!
